Turchetti’s is a family-owned, USDA-certified salumeria based in Indianapolis, specializing in small-batch charcuterie, deli meats, sausages, and bacon. Founded in 2017, we’re committed to using high-quality, all-natural ingredients in everything we make, with a focus on craftsmanship and innovation. From our early days offering sandwiches and burgers to becoming a full-scale wholesale operation, our journey has been defined by growth, community, and a dedication to bringing exceptional products to our customers.   • February 2017Turchetti’s was founded with a focus on creating high-quality, small-batch charcuterie.
  • January 15, 2018 – Began construction on our new processing facility and restaurant, setting the stage for our next chapter.
  • March 23, 2018 – Secured our first meat inspection grant, allowing us to officially begin producing Indiana State inspected meats.
  • August 24, 2018 – Opened our restaurant doors, initially offering sandwiches and burgers on weekends to showcase our products to the local community. Quickly growing and expanding hours.
  • September 2018 – Completed our first delivery to a distributor, expanding our reach beyond the restaurant.
  • January 2019 – George was named to Forbes 30 Under 30 for Food & Drink, becoming the first meat processor and butcher to receive this recognition.
  • April 2019 – Honored as Best New Restaurant in Indianapolis, recognized for our commitment to quality and community.
  • June 4, 2019 – Opened a butcher shop and market next door to our restaurant, bringing fresh meats directly to customers. Expanding our hours across the business to 7 days a week.
  • July 2019 – Became federally certified, moving from state inspection to USDA federal inspection, a significant milestone for us!
  • March 2020 – Closed our restaurant to the public due to the pandemic, operating as carryout only for 18 months while virtually elminating our wholesale program.
  • October 2021 – Reopened the restaurant as a soccer bar, adjusting our focus to the restaurant and market for the foreseeable future.
  • October 2023 – Secured a new facility in a neighboring neighborhood and began construction on a dedicated USDA production space to meet growing demand.
  • March 2024 – Named Eater 38 Essential restaurants in Indianapolis
  • August 2024 – Moved into our new USDA production facility, significantly increasing our capacity and efficiency.
  • September 2024 – Sold our restaurant and market space, focusing exclusively on wholesale operations and co-packing services.
  • 2025 – Continued commitment to wholesale growth, co-packing, and expanding the reach of Turchetti’s products.

George Turkette is the founder and owner of Turchetti's, a USDA-certified salumeria based in Indianapolis, Indiana. A entrepreneur with a deep passion for quality charcuterie, George founded Turchetti's in 2017 at the age of 25. Since then, he has grown the business into a recognized brand, specializing in hand-crafted, small-batch salami, sausages, deli meats, and bacon.

Before starting Turchetti's, George honed his skills in the industry through an apprenticeship at a USDA-certified salumeria. His knowledge of food safety, large-scale meat production, and dedication to using only the finest ingredients laid the foundation for his business.

Featured on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 in 2021 for Food & Drink, George is committed to creating exceptional products made from non-GMO, antibiotic-free, and ethically raised animals. Turchetti’s offerings reflect his deep appreciation for traditional Italian charcuterie, as well as his innovative approach to small-batch production.
